Escape Artist + Pasarbella

Shagged from all the activities happening this week. Offsite training for 2 days at Conrad and then interim audit happening at the same time but yet I cannot be there. So have to work after training. Hate this. Not only that. Last minute need to handle warehouse. This week I'm only in the office for 1 day!!!! Can i say, I miss my cubicle!!!! November is not a good month for me.
Anyways, it's been some time since I grumbled about work. gotta let off some steam.
Alright! On a cheerful side, Sunday was a birthday treat for the boy again by Bananas!
Went to Escape Artist to play some mind mystery game!

There are a few theme / story plot and depending on the fear factor and difficulty, and also the number of poeple you have, you can choose one to play.

We were locked in a room and the objective is to find clue and solve them so that you can find the key to your own door to win. The room for our play qas quite small but yet, damn tough to find the answers! So difficult! Alot of DEEP thinking.

We can press the bell for assistance a few times, but then again, at your own discretion cause that defeats the whole purpose of the game.
Anyway, we pressed like 3 times! We were so lousy cause we didn't even know how to solve the puzzle! We lost in the end, but nonetheless, very fun! Shall try and organise a bigger group and go and play other games.

I heard there is one at Bugis which is better, the room leads to another room, and the fear factor are more exciting. Think DARK ROOM!

After that, we went to Pasarbella!!! The whole thing was planned by them and so we didn't know. So when I found out we were going there, I was so hyper! Cause I have been wanting to go there but never got a chance to! It's rather far for east-siders; it's at Turf City Grandstand. But I found out along the way that there are free shuttle bus from a couple of places and it's convenient!

The whole place is big! and there's seriously alot of food!!! It gives me a feeling of being in Aussie. Farmer's market. But the food is quite ex though, so cannot go very frequently. haha... the jap food are very fresh, but ex....

Even the toilet is pretty!!!
We took some time touring the whole place before settling down for some tea and cakes.

Thereafter, we headed to Chinatown for Chang Cheng porridge because the boy is sick and no appetite to eat other stuff.

We ended the day quite early and let the boy rest. That marks the end of another celebration. :)

Gotta keep up with my updates. Too many backlog photos after hectic October...

Prelude to his 30th: Adventure Cove Waterpark

So, we did finally go to Adventure Cove Waterpark at Sentosa!
Why did I say finally? Cause originally he said to postpone it because he wasn't feeling well, was sick for the past few days.
Honestly, I was pretty bummed when he said to postpone. Was SO looking forward to playing at Adventure Cove. Mini-break for myself.
But thankfully, he woke up in the morning feeling okay, so decided to just go ahead as planned! *Beams*
Went to his house hawker for breakfast before heading to our usual workplace -.-" ... and walked over to Sentosa. Nice weather :)
The ticket is only valid for one day, and got it at a cheaper rate than the usual $36 for non-peak cause a friend is working there :)
And, I made him take a photo! Tee-hee... Well, he's up for it (that's him) so glad that he took this.

We then did some touristy shots before heading to change out our attire.

The main locker area situated on the left after the entrance is the biggest area. The lockers works like USS, for a full day rental. But damn ex. $10 for small locker, $20 for big locker. Confirm sunk cost that you cannot avoid.

The toilet is also spacious, with many cubicles, and I love the bathing cubicle!!! SPACIOUS! If only the swimming pool one are like these. And the cubicle is eco-concept, means one side is planted greenery.

We managed to take all the rides, with average waiting time for some are 45minutes. I think the crowd is just nice to be able to try all rides one time. So, if you go during a weekend, you will definitely not have enough time to play all of them. FYI, it opens at 10am - 6pm.

Besides the rides, there are many spacious bean bags seat all around the place, at different sections of Adventure Cove. Nice for relaxation! Too bad we only found out at the end of the day. Didn't manage to take the pictures.

My favourite activity in Adventure Cove is definitely got to be the Rainbow Reef! Although I've snorkelled before, but this enclosed small area has SO MUCH MORE beatiful creatures altogether! You get to see so many different fishes and corals! Also, it's suitable for people who don't dare to snorkel out in the sea, they can try here because they have lifeguards and trainers all around. Totally safe!

My next favourite is the SPLASHWORKS. In there, it's like obstacle courses to try. They have the beam balance, spider climb and a balancing rope that requires you to walk from one end to the other. Failing that, you will fall into a 4m pool. If you don't know how to swim, you will need life vest.

There is also a "cliff' jump where you get to jump into the water at a higher ground. Like those swimming jumping board.

The hardest got to be the rope climb. You will need to pull yourself up using the rope and get to the top to ring the bell. I failed that as expected. My arms are forever so weak.

Other than these, the rides RipTide Rocket, Pipeline plunge are shiok too! I would say the rest are so-so for me, but then again, water theme park, this should be the better ones around. Haven been to one really good. haha...

We also took the Adventure River Raft where you just sit on the float and take a river cruise... it's a big round, but it's shiok especially after lunch, you just wanna laze and do nothing, let the water take you through. Surprisingly, we saw many pretty sights like the stingrays and also caught a glimpse of dolphins in action!

All in all, I would say it was a really fun day playing, been a long time since I did something like this.
Thinking if I should sign up for the annual pass...

ChunkFest 2013

It was a super bad day. Heavy rain caused the whole place to be so muddy!!! *yikes*
ChunkFest 2013 - Annual Ben & Jerry festival was held at Promenade Marina last weekend.
Went there to joy the hype and fun since we had nothing planned.
Entrance is free but you got to buy tokens to play games or buy food. There was a few games stall, all relating to Ben & Jerry or potatoes. Totally no idea what's with the link between potato and B&J. Probably because of the new flavour Couch Potato? *shrugs*
We just toured around because we weren't interested in playing, especially when we were concentrating not to sink into the muddy patches ALL OVER THE EVENT.
Just nice there was the competition of completing the 20 scoops of ice cream, the winner gets to walk away with 1 year of free B&J ice cream. I witnessed the most amazing thing ever. Within 20 seconds, the winner emerged! Apparently, the DJ said it's probably the best record EVER.
We decided to just try one flavour out of the so many flavours because it's kinda ex. One scoop for $6!
Most of the flavours were specially brought in from US, which you cannot get in Singapore, so better try la hor.
Tried the Americone Dream - Vanilla ice cream with fudge-covered waffle cone pieces & caramel swirl
I think B&J never fails. At least to me. Love the bits in the ice cream.
Left the event and spent time strolling along the custom house, esplanade and slowly to Suntec. Suntec has already been newly renovated and so we decided to go there for dinner. But .... it was PACKED.
Decided to settle for something convenient and lesser queue because I'm damn hungry. NAM NAM which I've been wanting to try. They will inform you the table number and you will need to order and pay at the counter. This outlet at Suntec is open concept, there are counter seats for you to see them cook.
The baguette is equally nice (better than subway's), but it's very filling. The beef noodle, SUPER THUMBS UP!!!! Definitely will go there and eat again. The soup is delicious. SUPER SATISFYING AND VALUE FOR MONEY.

The new Marina Square

Went to the newly renocated Marina Square to check out food!
I don't frequent there previosuly because it's rather inconvenient and out of the way. But now with circle line and the new link from Raffles City, getting ther is so mcuh better.
So I went there on Friday night! Met up with my ex-boss, Irene for dinner and chit chat session.
There's really a whole lot more of restaurants but we settled for Bangkok Jam.
Sad to say the food was passable, not very fantastic. The olive fried rice is the best among the food we ordered like pad thai (failed-too dry, clumpy), chicken wings (normal), and green curry (normal).

So we went elsewhere for desserts. To satisfy my craving, we went to Lady M! First in Singapore, and rated the best for crepes, I just got to try it!
We tried the signature Crepe - Lady M Mille Crepes, made of paper-thin layered crepes with cream and topped with caramel coating. It was good, and soft, but I didn't really quite like it because it's too milky for me. It's probably good for anyone else out there who can take milk cause Irene and GGH said it was really good!
I think it's best eaten in store and not packed away because when we ate and talked, the crepe sort of slide down towards the end.
I prefer the Checkers Cake which is made up of checkered Vanilla and Chocolate sponge cake and topped with chocolate coating.

The Coffee Daily

One of my "to-do" list striked off - Checking out The Coffee Daily.
75 Brighton Crescent  559216
Some of my friends was saying the coffee is good so decided I should check it out one day. But this one day somehow didn't come ... for a very long time... until we had to go to that Purple line for a housewarming.

So we went slightly earlier to go check this place out cause it's abit out of nowhere. Near Serangoon Gardens but not exactly there.

The place is quite small, like 10+ table... the size of my living room plus dining area maybe. But good thing is not many people, not crowded, good for quiet times.

Had their Hazelnut Latte. First time trying something different cause I always order Mocha everywhere I go. Nice! Smells good and doesn't taste too sweet. :)

Surprisingly, their croissant is nicer than Delifrance! Or maybe... delifrance at vivocity is not up to standard. haha. But glad that there's crispy crossiants out there!

And Rainbow cake!!! The colors are pastels and very pretty looking!
But I don't really like the frosting on top, too sweet...
And the cake is denser, not those fluffy type. Personally, I prefer Le Chocolat Cafe rainbow cake to this.
