Staycation: Qool Quincy

Happy weekend is gone so fast!
Went to Quincy Hotel located along Mount Elizabeth Road for a weekend stay!
Well, the highlight is actually baking cupcakes, not the stay .. lol.. but the stay was good.
The Qool Weekend package comes with dinner, breakfast and lunch all inclusive plus free flow of mini bar stuff plus a bottle of red wine! Basically, you check in and you didn't have to spend a single cent for meals thereafter. :)
The package came with a cupcake baking session plus a movie night by the pool. It was showing Pitch Perfect so we gave it a miss because I watched it before already.

The cupcake baking session! The place is quite small so if you plan to go there, better book the session first. Max 12 i think.
Sweet aprons!! Been a long time since i wore one .... Sec 2? Lol....

Making cupcakes seem simple because we just had to mix the sugar, butter, flour and vanilla essence with the blueberries in and mix all of them together! Seem just so simple! After that, just bake them in 15-20 min and you have blueberry cupcakes!

So while the oven is piping, we had a little game of fun - icing decorations! We had ready made chocolate cupcakes and were given some colours to play around with.

After 15 minutes, viola! Our nice blueberry cupcakes! Though I'm not a fan of blueberry, it was good!

After that, we toured around the hotel which had an infinity pool (sorry, no pictures.. forgot!) then rest before heading down for dinner. Dinner was selection of one main course. We managed to sit by the window and the view was nice. Just patches of grass but i liked it.

Our night was spent window shopping at Orchard and bought a dress for new born baby of Celyn's.

The next day's breakfast was a spread of standard international food. I would say their food standard is good. Quite nice, especially they free flow of ice cream 24 hours. :):):)

We spent our afternoon being a tourist! Guess where we went....
SINGAPORE BOTANIC GARDENS!!!

And we walked from our hotel all the way there! Hot scorching sun but we went ahead.
Never been there before except the wedding photo taking of my bro.
Quite a nice place because you can sit there and picnic!
So, here's our typical "must have" tourist photo... The main gate! lol.
His standard routine - Take map photo. :)

 My favourite photo. :)

The above look so special. like lotus...

Had a great weekend. Though the botanic walk was tiring, but enjoyed it maybe because I love walking. Lol.
The stay at Quincy was good - Service was fab! The toiletries was Molten Brown (hehe) and most importantly, Had a good time doing something together for the first time. Baking. :)

Looking forward to the next staycation!

xoxo.

Mr Jay :)

This semester is finally over!!! I might have screwed up both papers... got sad over it, and angry because we weren't taught of those that came out, but it's OVER!!!!
I was super hyper the day I finished, and the next day... and.. I'm kinda still hyper even though I have tons of work to do. Yes, backlog after 2 weeks of hospitalisation and 4 days of leave for exams.
And here, I'm slogging away desperately trying to close FY2012 financial statements.

Erm, taking a break now la. =)
After my first exam on 6th June, I went for JAY CHOU concert!!!! WOO-HOO~~~
I was pretty near to the stage (that cost me $241 by the way) and could see him quite clearly!
A friend's boyfriend was so sweet to queue from 12midnight till morning 9am just to get the nearest seat to the stage. He was angry he couldn't get what he wanted which was first 5 rows, because of SISTIC's slow webby. But nonetheless, I think it was good! (Thanks Jeff!)

Didn't take alot of photos because I was in daze just listening to his songs and seeing him so near. haha....
But sadly he didn't dance as much as I was expecting.
Kinda emo after that because.... ok, shall drop it.

I so wanna go KTV !!!! Been ages!!!!

I think Jay like PINK alot.. The light sticks were pink in colour, his mic + mic stand also in pink!
But it was pretty when the lights dimmed, and our sticks were lit up. :)

Totally enjoyed myself! :)

Now I'm still having this hyper mood because I temporary do not need to memorise notes and practising them so nowadays when I'm travelling, I watch dance clips and day dream!!!
What am I thinking? HOLIDAYS!!!!! And a birthday to plan.... :) yea, it's still long way but need time to plan.... haha

My first half of 2013

Before you know it, zoom! first half of 2013 is gone. What have you been doing?

For me, none of my goals in work has even started. All hanging there because of too many major projects going.
Very soon, next quarter will be implementation stage or lots of liasing with outside vendors.
I can say, projects may be tough and taking lots of time, but it's a damn good experience to be involved.
Adds intangible asset to your resume.

This half year ... hasn't been all good for me. Especially quarter 2.
Had many heart to heart talks with Mr. Global while I was on hospitalization.
Colleagues thought I went on long leave for my study... while some suspect something is going on.
He asked me why I don't say.
To be honest, I'm afraid. I don't know what they will think. And I don't want people to treat me differently.
But, I feel bad lying esp. to those I'm close with. Anyway, I'm recovering well, just abit slow in doing things. Results was not what I expected and hope for, but well. Life.

So... he did a long talk with me. And I should be facing the truth bravely, and even live better no matter what happens in future.
And, it's a good chance to let people know that health checks are important.
And because of such things, people learn to treasure things that money cannot buy.

It's not gonna be easy, but I have decided not to hide. If in future, it goes on to a worse level, I will be brave by then to handle what comes. Of course, I'll continue to pray that nothing will happen, and pray I'll live longer.

I don't know if it will ever happen, but I hope 2H will be back together as one. Because, I treasure all of you. Many unfortunate events happened even though I wasn't been told directly. But I still feel for it. Because I still care. I believe some of us do care as well. I'm listening to this song while typing away...

周杰倫【世界未末日 官方完整MV】Jay Chou "Not The End Of The World" MV

Listen. And imagine what if the situation happens... What would you do? Share your thoughts here.

Recovering ....

This is it.

In 12 hours time, I'll be on G.A and sleeping my way through.
I hope everything will turn out fine and no more surprises.
it's been growing, so i'm just hoping for the best.

No matter how advance medical can be, there will still be a slight worry whenever you enter the hospital.
So yes, i'm afraid. Afraid of the results. Even though it looks a little bright, but still, i'm worried.

Will be staying in tentatively 1 night until the doc says okay.

Still haven figure out how I should put my out-of-office.
Or whether i should even put. haha...
Cause if I put, people sure will start asking around.
hmm...

Am eating my "dinner" now at 00:05am. Cause i can't eat from 6am already. Not even water... challenging.

Now, the only bright thing i look forward is... lying on a private hospital bed. hahaha.
It better be good man. Hated the TTSH and SGH beds when I was small.

Oh well.... All I can do is pray.

Out for 2 weeks. Take care people. Will be emo-ing for these 2 weeks to recovery.

Krrrrabi!!

Long overdue but still wanna jot this down. :)
This is sort of an unplanned trip, going there with dunno what we wanna do.
It was just meant to be chilled relaxing trip before this May thingy....

Krabi is part of a small island in Thailand. Only tiger airways flies to Krabi directly.
It's a very short flight and the airport only has two landings!
That explains why it's cheaper than Phuket maybe?

By the time we reached our hotel, it was just nice for check in time. We stayed near Aonang town, a place called Aonang Resort & Spa.
Very decent, with deco very laid back style. All the furnitures are wooden styles.
Our room was a Premium room, hence our balcony can see the resort's swimming pool and can oversee the big hill which was quite famous over there.
Our balcony was pretty spacious too!

We decided to check out if there were some island hopping or interesting activities for next couple of days.
We settled for a small shop for lunch and I think whichever shop you go, the food is waaayy better than Singapore's Thai food.
We walked around the shops and decided on one island hopping to four islands and also one evening canoeing package.
Dinner time - We went to a famous Thai restaurant recommended by many reviewers. KRUATHARA.
Food was damn good!!!!

Luckily we went early so that we didn't have to queue.
The forever good coconut drink that is good in Thailand only.

They even had a singer to entertain us, and he sings English oldies!

The next day was basically just doing the island hopping to Four Island. They have others like James Bond island, Phi Phi Island, which is cheaper to go to from Krabi than from Phuket. AND!!! You can actually go Phuket from Krabi and it's cheaper!

Did snorkelling and sun tanning.. Lunch was provided by them which is good as well. Green curry :)
The island hopping ended around 3pm, thereafter we headed back to clean up before nua-ing at a nearby cafe. That's shiokness of nua-ing. Sit, drink coffee, read magazine, watch people walking. lol.

We went to the Krabi Town Night Market which is an hour drive from Aonang. The night market only opens on weekends. Decided to try taking the public bus which is 60baht only.. :D

3rd day - Went for little self sight seeing at nearby beaches and massage. The limestones was beautiful, very natural. There were people really doing rock climbing on these uneven rocks!
The massage was cheap - SGD 30odd for 1.5hrs. They had the Aloe Vera massage which I never seen before. Apparently they have it because many people who go Krabi probably got sun burnt! haha...
Aloe Vera has very good calming and moisturizing features.

We wanted to try one popular western food for lunch.. however, we got "introduced" by the tuk tuk driver to another atas place. Apparently its the most atas place around Krabi - The Hilltop.
It has a car to bring you up to the restaurant (because it's up the hill). It feels like you are eating at Mount Faber because when you eat, it oversees the sea and landscape.
We were joking that he "bao" the whole restaurant. cause there wasn't anyone there. Guess nobody will dine in the noon. It's more popular in the evening ba.
The price is quite expensive as well, but the food was good.

Then here's our evening sunset kayaking!!! This activity was one of the best in my opinion. And I was surprised by the package. Maybe because I didn't put much expectation in it, hence I was quite happy with the service and all.
That's our guide for the evening. We went around several mangroves and it was quite calming. After the sunset, the waters were high tide and slightly difficult to kayak.

After that, the package included a BBQ dinner. Initially I though it would be a simple BBQ. Then it turned out we were seated facing the sea, like seaside dining. And there were so much food!!!! We couldn't finish at all! Chicken, prawn, sotong, fish, deserts, fruits, it was too much for just 2 of us. And the setting even had those campfire sticks.
After that, they even gave us one lattern to fly it up. Like those in taiwan. :) so sweet.

That sums up my little trip to Krabi. Overall, it was relaxing and good experience for a beach trip! :)
