Churros Orchard Central

The greedy me who already felt slightly sick on Sunday still insisted on going to town to try churros cause I was craving for it a long time!
Just nice, (or purposely), we had a movie to catch in town.

Walked over to Orchard Central to try the Spanish Doughnuts.
181 Orchard Road,
#05-51/52 Orchard Central,
Singapore 238896

The first bite was sirening craving satisfied...
We both kept reaching to the pack and eat! :p
We bought the Choco Churritos, which is the normal churros with 3 sauce dips - White, Milk, and Dark chocolate.

I like mine with dark (as always), and also just eating the plain churros was great already.
GGH likes the white chocolate.
It differs slightly from the USS churros (my next best option), where USS churros was sugary coated,
but this Spanish doughnut was coated with powdery sugar.

They do sell other premium coated churros which looks equally nice! Shall try it next time when I recover!

My 28th: Month round celebration 4

My birthday celebration continued on Monday with my SHE girls. hehe...
Self name them SHE cause so "qiao" they are Sylvia, Helen, Esther. hehehe...

Love meeting up with them because they are my talking kakis. They can really talk.. especially Esther (ultimate!). hehe... and that's what I like cause I hardly talk in office already. It's so quiet in office as compared to last time... where we can take break at our mama shop... :(

Anyway, we went to Tanjong Pagar area and decided bravely to queue for Pince & Pints. We were there like 6plus and when I put my name down, there were 4 groups of 4 in front of me, and waiting time around 2hr...

SO... we went to nearby café and sit and ate something light.....

It was not light at all.... we bought 2 cakes... Lemon cake and ...

Carrot cake...
Carrot cake is nice and way better than the lemon cake...

And guess what, when Esther came, they bought another lychee chocolate cake!
How to finish?!...

Wishing very hard cause, hey! I think this will be my last candle this year to blow! So, must wish more right?!

Our dear Esther bought each of us this! And mine was the tower... :):)

So, around 8pm, we didn't receive any calls so we got abit worried, maybe reception low or what.. so we walked over and asked...
And the waitress told me... there's still groups of 4 in front of me...
cause the table didn't move! Apparently, there's only ONE table of 4. ()@&#%!$
It's really small, there's like ONE table of 4 and 3 tables of 2's...
Then the rest is bar counter table..

Since the waitress couldn't tell me how long I had to wait, we decided to try other food then.
My first time waiting for 2 hrs and not even in the restaurant yet... -.-"""

We settled for a Korean chicken shop.. I think it's called Chicken Up?
Anyway, it looked quite popular cause there were many people eating...
And there were so many tables ordering like half watermelon, which I have absolutely no idea what it was, but I just had to get one and try. hahha..

Tadah!!! It's actually watermelon soju...
Alcohol on a Monday.... first time leh...

We ordered 3 different types of chicken flavour. It was SHIOK!
But the spicy wasn't actually spicy.
Personally I feel I like 4 Fingers more because the meat is not that chunky and you won't feel full easier...
For this, you will actually feel full cause it's parts of a chicken instead of 4 Fingers, tiny wings part...

It felt good being able to have chat for so long ...
I do miss having such friends as colleagues, missing the laughter, cohesiveness in working, and talking at the top of our voices during month ends with Godma.
.............till then....

My 28th: Month round celebration 3

Back date to last Friday, I met up with the girls for dinner. And it's at Ssikkek Korean grill BBQ at Oriental Plaza. Yuez warned me that we will stink badly once we go in... and... it was true. hahaa...

We got there around 6.30pm and was told that we could only eat till 8pm. So, apparently, although is 2 hrs eating time, there is a time slot: 6-8pm, then 8-10pm.
I think this is new, cause linx was mentioning last time was 2hrs starts only when you enter.
Anyway, we ate finished earlier than that lah..

Craving for BBQ~~~

After the stinking session, we walked down to The Central and settled for Starbucks as they were having $4.90 promotion for Venti sized coffee! Super worth it.

And opening presents time! They bought 2 huge presents and told me to guess. And best still, I had to carry back home with 2 huge plastic bag?! I ended cabbing home .. hehe..

And to my surprise.... I got 2 wonderful gifts! So useable ... for them... cause i'm supposed to bake for them....
I got a hand mixer and the original dispenser!!! Casually mentioned to them the last round we met that I was searching for a dispenser but didn't wanna buy the real thing cause it's quite expensive for storing cereals... and they got one for me!!! And it's not fake - it's the real deal!!!!

Love them deep deep lah!!!!

And the bought a pair of Brown & Cony for me... for I dunno why too... hahhaa
But they are so sweet!

So, I promise them that I will bake them a cake for their bday!!! Now, time for me to resume my baking! And I have more time to spare now cause I passed my exams!!!

I have officially graduated and able to get my CPA!!!!
So, no more exams!!!! WOOHOO!!!!
I'm sure Yuez will say, woah like finally no more studying... hehehe
But yeah, really, nothing to study liao except maybe occasionally training and short programmes.
Have no plans to do MBA now so.... *shift behind the back of my mind*

But I also keep thinking to myself... what am I supposed to do now. haha...
feel kinda lost not studying... like just passing your time your life away...
haha...
Oh well, I shall find something to keep me occupied!!!

Okay, enjoy your weekend guys! and something to cheer myself up this weekend :)

Super love this video.. :):):)

My 28th: Month round celebration 2

My 28th birthday celebration with the boy came early with a cake delivered to my office during late afternoon!

Was caught in surprise because seldom the receptionist would call me down.
My first thought was actually some IRAS letter. hahaa.

And it was actually a delivery by The White Ombre. A cake! When I was the handwriting of the order, I knew it was GGH. His handwriting is like a small boy. hahah...

And my colleagues was so kind to celebrate for me. When I cut the cake it's actually a rainbow cake! hahahaha... he knows I like rainbow cake. Not because it's nice to eat, but it makes me happy. :)
The cake was so huge that we had problem finish distributing them. But finally can lah.

Then when he finally texted me back, he ask me why I no leave for him? -.-"""
Too late. Haha... cause I actually texted him when I received the cake, and exclaimed what did he want me to do with such huge cake?! haha...

Although really happy of his gesture, was slightly sad cause I wanted to send him a cake on his birthday, and now, he stole my idea. ARGH. Now must think so something else.

The next day, we both took leave for my birthday. But we met only in the afternoon.
I was quite worried as these days has been raining and there goes my picnic if it rains.
When I reached ard 12plus at vivo, it was actually drizzling...
But when I met the boy at 2plus pm, it stopped raining!
I proudly  told GGH, see! God knows I'm out to play, so he will shift the clouds away!
hahaha...

Enjoying our ice cream after walking to siloso beach and back to beach station cause he decided to Tanjong Beach. -.-"" It's far.

Layed our baby colours mat out and he brought such colourful snacks! Makes it so pretty and happy. :)
In case you didn't know, I love picnics actually.

Something rare that I see - Him reading a storybook. wow. hahha...
He's a nua person, so I never really believe he reads. hahaha.

It felt really great to be in a touristy place on a weekday where it is less crowded and many were non-Singaporeans.

GGH gladly did poses that I requested. Birthday privilege. hehe.

After a short swim... miss my boracay trip where the waters were so clear.

Shortly, we packed and he bought tickets to play at Luge ride.
Fun! Long time never play at Sentosa liao. If you are scared of heights maybe this is not for you cause when you go up, it's like sitting on a swing, and using the cable car line to go up.
No walls and your feet are hanging in the air.

Thereafter, he said there's another activity- Wings of Time!!!
Trigger happy! Our first date was actually here. But it was Songs of the Sea that time. Only recently, they changed to Wings of Time after so many donkey years, and I was quite upset over it. hahaha..

Didn't have much time to eat dinner, so I opted for Macdonalds.

The Wings of Time has much more advanced technology displays but I felt it was much less meaningful than the previous one.

Went home to open my gift, and he bought such a cute pig piggy bank!
Now I have two cute pigs. One this, another one, him. hehe. He's really a pig by year.

And he chose this colour cause it's a "Tiffany" colour. It really put what I teach him to good use. He didn't know what's a Tiffany colour when others talk about it.

Thank you for taking time off to spend a simple day out with me, and always doing things that I didn't expect you would do.

I no longer believe in forever, but I have learnt to trust you wholeheartedly.

So I quote from The fault in our stars,
Some infinities are bigger than other infinites. I'm grateful for our little infinity.
Thank you for loving me when I have so much imperfections.

My 28th Speech

Happy 28th to myself.

This 28th, I woke up and reflected on what  I have achieved over my past 28 years.
.....
Nothing fantastic. ok, does owning a house count?

Yeap, I thought hard. Nothing big. But, how about the small little things?
Oh hell yeah.
I survived without any revisits to hospital, I'm fighting hard to earn my keep, pay my debts, and while taking more time off for my "me-time" and doing things I like.

I, praising myself, patted myself for having grown up spiritually, seeking God's word, being happier a lot more, overcoming difficult obstacles that have come.

However, nobody's perfect. And me, far from perfect.
I'll continue to learn to be happy, try not to get bothered over unsightly matters, and see things with an open heart.

Someone told me, there's this guy who grew up with average results, and being brought up by a single parent, his mum had an eye surgery when he was a child. Because of a careless act by a doctor, his mum became blind.
Since then, he became the eyes of his mum. Shortly after, his mum passed away and he never got a chance to visit the zoo after his PSLE (that was supposedly his gift).
Cut things short, he went through tough periods but realised his passion of teaching. He studied hard and managed to get MOE scholarship to teach, even though his results could get him into business etc. He wanted to do something meaningful in his life.
Even when he was poor, he saw a poor old man begging for food, he saved his money and ate bread to treat the poor man a Macdonald's meal. So, be thankful and appreciative of what you have.
What's even amazing was, his mum didn't sue the doctor even though potentially, they would have gotten financial return, and would not be so poor.
But his mum told him, because the doctor is a new doctor, by suing him, there goes his license.

Life, it's how you decide how you want to lead. But remember, every actions has its consequences.
Be thankful, kind and gracious.

I may not be able to achieve that kind heartedness, but definitely, I'll do what I can in my own way, even if it just means donating a dollar to an poor old man.

That story, is a real life story in Singapore by the way. Told by my Godma :)

Thank you all for reading such a wordy post if you have reached here....

Last but not least, I'm really thankful for the real friends I have out there. You know who you are. :)
and... of course, the silly boy who never reads this and minds his own business. :)

My 28th: Month round celebration 1

And so, the BANANAS were the first to chop and celebrate my birthday!
I thought this year was gonna be a breeze with simple dinner, but I was wrong....

First, they brought me to a café (good start!)
It is Necessary Provision, located among the bungalows at Toh Tuck Rd.
I swear it was embarrassing....
GGH and I couldn't find where the entrance door was and we walked behind the shop (thinking it could probably be behind like some arty shops)...
Then there's this guy smoking, and asked "are you looking for the toilet?"
I wanted to ask where's the door. But figured he'd laugh at me...

So anyway, I finally saw at "PUSH" word and tadah! I'm in! haha..

And the couple were already inside, maybe laughing at us... hahaha...
And a wefie using a selfie stick!!!

This shot is like after so many attempts...

And this came as a surprise to me! birthday cake like 10 min after I sat down... haaha...
Well, I tot this would come maybe for dinner...
So sweet of them... for NOW. hahaha...

Shortly after, we popped by the next door for more cakes!

Lynn's Cakes & Coffee

Cause they say the cakes were good, and there's rainbow cake!
Yah, I like rainbow cakes not because it's fantastic, but it makes me happy. :)

Total 3 cakes I ate in a day, or in an hour. lol...

Sad to say, the rainbow cake was very forgettable. Definitely not on my list.
The carrot cake was still not too bad.

After eating so much, they brought me to somewhere for a vigorous exercise...
Playing baseball...

Never heard of this place before, it's located behind Cycle & Carriage... near Teban Gardens.
Really cannot remember the address though.
Try googling it k.

This is the first cage which is the easiest because of the slow speed and bigger ball. It uses softball.

Looking like a pro...

This guy looks like he wanna whack someone. hahah...

Obviously not the right way to hold a bat.

After trying a few rounds, we kinda got the hang of it but I think for girls, it hurts abit when u hit the ball cause the impact will get to your palm.

I had a small bruise after the game. Suffering of a birthday girl #1.

The guys getting better with the fast balls.
At the end of the game, we were all sweaty and perspiring.
And they didn't even tell me beforehand that I was going to sweat! Luckily I had gym in the morning and wore shoes that day. Shouldn't have bathe though. hahaha...

There's another cage for throwing called "Strike Out"
There's an automated shooting machine that throws the ball at you.
You catch it and try to aim at the blinking number.

I...
Totally FAILED at this...

I got only 1 point out of the 12 throws while the rest did much better than me.
So, I shall not post my embarrassing results here.

It was great fun but tiring (I'm feeling abit sore on my arms today)...
And there goes the 3 cakes.... haha...

Poser.

And we headed for dinner!
And I thought I could relax already... but I was WRONG.
I had to walk up a long slope (more exercise) before reaching the dinner destination.
Suffering of a birthday girl #2.
And here we are: Lucha Loco
Mexico food!

Good friends are like stars. You don't have to see them, but you know they're always there!
Realised I didn't take a picture with Edmund... hahaha... Busy honing his photography skills. hehe...

And our Mexican food!
All of them were good except for the ribs which I think it's normal.
The Tacos were great!

After that we went outside for drinks and chips.
This shot, is again, after many attempts by Ed. lol...

Having already ordered my drink, and I quote what GGH said, "This drink didn't short change us"...
Really stronger than usual... (or maybe it's been a long time I drank)
.....
.....
But they think my drink not enough.... they bought a shot for me!
I have never drank a shot in my life.... but apparently Ed didn't bother. He still asked which one is the best..... -.-"""
And I had to do it cause the two guys so steadily sang a birthday song for me when they gave me the shot.... Steady team!
Suffering of a birthday girl #3.

It was awful!!! The burning sensation on your throat... yikes!!!!
And for the first time, I love that orange... yah, orange is not my favourite fruit.
But that night that moment, it was the best!

And to end such a fantastic night, when I wanted to go home, I puked!!!!
And again, my first time vomiting after drinking!!!!
Suffering of a birthday girl #4

Ultimate right... hahaha...
But even though it was tiring and "pitiful"...haha...
it's one great celebration that I'll probably remember for some time. hahaha...
Thank you Karin & Edmund for the effort, the fun time, and present!
Till the BANANAS strikes again...

Here's a video of my virgin shot drink. I think I was gonna tear from the burning sensation.
