Goodbye 2013!

So, this is the last of 2013. Time flies isn't it? But then again, I think every year I say the same thing - Time flies.

A reflection of what happened over this year:

Company trip to Taiwan
Got attached to mr. sunshine
Had an operation and upped my insurance even further
Learn that life isn't just about working after realising I had an illness
Had 2 trips with my dearest RSVP - Bangkok & Penang
mr. sunshine treated me to beach vacations - Krabi, Bintan & Boracay ...which...
I dared a cliff jump 15m high :)
Took some time to learn baking
Moved in this new house but still HDB haven settle yet (roll eye)
Completed ACCA (well, pending final results)
Promoted as an Accountant early this year
Took on major projects for Inventory & Tax

Basically, I think that's it? Well, I think I did good in 2013.. .except maybe the housing isn't settled. and I'm still desperately saving up to pay off debts.

Mostly importantly, I think health is my take away for 2013. Well, things happen then u learn from the lessons right?
Seriously, I urge every one to do a yearly checkup because some things cannot be seen through naked eyes. And only when you do such checks then at least it gives u a comfort feeling that everything's alright.
I had already spent a substantial amount for insurance but I still upped this year because of what happened.
Insurance, if you haven got one, please go get at least a life insurance. Thats the basic.

Through this shocking news I had, it made me think about what I have been doing for the past few years ever since I began working. Working to me, ya, I'm a workholic. Friends around me knows that. Colleagues know that too, and they say my temper has gradually showing and I always have that gloomy face. But to defend this, when I don't laugh, I have a straight face! Don't expect me to keep smiling right?! And when I'm thinking, my face is serious, so bo pian if my face always gloomy. haha..

I began taking things slow, of course, I made sure I complete my task, but I also learnt how to reject people. How to not add things on my plate.
I then made sure I have some "me" time alone doing things I enjoy such as going gym, taking dance classes, leisurely reading my book while having a cuppa. Yup, I have been doing these after the incident.
I made sure I have time for my loved ones, my family, and making sure I go home at least once a week to eat dinner with my dad. Scheduling time with RSVP and 4F, and of course mr. sunshine.
I learnt to let go of things at work when it's shitty, and not be too bothered about it.

Mr. Sunshine has also been very supportive of me, constantly making sure my health is at check. The weird thing is that our relationship, although just started, isn't like those "re lian" honeymoon period where couples always meet everyday and go out everyday. We don't. We took things very slow, but he still make it a point to spend quality time together at least once a week. Be it just a dinner or movie.
I'm grateful for him being patient with me, and cheering me up when shit happens, sticking by me during my downest moment and taking care of me. He isn't bothered about what other people say, doesn't gossip, which sometimes I feel he got a "bo chap" attitude. haha... but that's the good side of him. That's probably why he's always so cheerful.

When you are at the lowest point, you will know who are the real friends.
And I wanna take this time to thank people who stick through my 2013. My illness may not be completely gone forever, but I will look at things positively. :)

To my RSVP girls, for all the gossips and rubbish talks, and keeping secrets for me, I wish our friendship will be lasting as ever. Oh, of course, and for all the drama shows that all of you keep updating me. haha.

To my 4F peeps, you guys never fail to make me roll eye at stuffs that you guys talk about. lol. And this is the group where I learnt all the high street brands. hahaha... you guys rocks!

And to a special person, my mentor, and an elder sister to me, you guided me and groomed me professionally and gave me insights to the outside world. The interest we share, from cycling and baking sessions, it's amazing that we can click so much. Thank you, Irene.

And finally, my family and godparents, needless to say. :)

Well, I think this has gotten to a very long post, so I shall stop here.

I hope 2014 will be smooth sailing and wonderful lessons to learn.
Goodbye 2013 and bring it on 2014!!!!
Let's have a fantastic 2014 everyone! :):):) *Hugs & kisses*

Before I go to Paradise :)

Hihi!!! In a happy mood because I'll be going away to Boracay tomorrow for 5 days!!! Whoohoo!!!

Just great! Friday was also a great day for us because we were given each an iPad mini with Retina 32G! This is because on Friday, we officially hit $100M sales and having $100M sales with only a 5M++ population is an amazing achievement! I think our flag will be flying in US Abbott Park office. :)
Total of 100 iPad was given out that day. And behind it, it engraved "Abbott Nutrition Singapore" "Stronger, Faster, Higher" - our motto for this year.

On the same day itself, it was my dasao's brother's wedding and this is the first "qing jia" wedding in our family. The family is vegetarian so the whole wedding is served the same at Quality Hotel.

My mum, 2nd bro with baby Velda. Missing my dad and eldest.

The food was so so only... :( didn't really eat much...

Anyway, the next day I went on a quick date with GGH. Because my dasao had 2 gold class tickets to redeem and expires 31st December, we managed to book Saturday's slot. We actually wanted to book last week but all fully booked. I think Singaporeans are getting richer man. Willing to spend $36 per ticket to watch movie... ALL Katong and Vivocity slots were FULLY BOOKED for WHOLE DAY!!!
So... I became smarter, I waited till Tuesday's afternoon when they update their website on the timing, and I straight away go buy. hahaha... In not cannot get good seats!!!! Don't say I kiasu!

A super forced smile. *roll eye*
Honestly speaking, Gold Class seats are really comfortable. The seats can be reclined, with leg rest, and there's comfy blanket provided! The seat is spacious too! And the side seats are slanted to face the screen.
However, I will not pay for $36 for a ticket still. haha... it's just too ex!
Thanks to my dasao, I enjoyed by 3 hrs of movie. :) (purposely choose this show cause the longest movie right now). :)

Ever since I finished my studies, besides work, I think I got nothing to do but go gym and read books.
I think I have alot of time recently esp now, holidays.
And I even have time to paint my nails!!!
So, I have been spending my free day day dreaming on what I should do. haha...
Well, I'm kinda tired of Finance already. And I don't know what to do. I'm thinking of doing something myself, but my juices aren't flowing. Can probably think of online blogshops (but they are like everywhere), or doing tuition business.
These two are ideas that I don't mind trying, and they are low cost to begin with. But I don't know if I should try.
Blogshops - I don't know where to source. And given that the whole market is flooded with them right now, I don't know if it's profitable anymore.
Tuition business - I still do enjoy teaching. Trust me, I do. I like the sense of achievement and in a way, it's like giving back to the society, bringing up the future kids. That aside, tuition business is also quite flooded...
Haiz. I just know I need to start doing something because I'm in huge debt because of this house. Shall do Boracay and do some thinking. :)
Any thoughts?

Xcape Christmas

The first christmas gift exchange for 2013. Haha.. it's super early this year because of each other's schedules, off days, and my trip in december.
So, we met up on Friday the 13th!

Went for dimple dinner at Ajisen before heading the TCC near Purvis cause we booked a game at 2330hrs to play again!!! More details later.

Now, the gift exchange. When we met up for the November girls bday, we chose our Angels and thereafter we can post what we wanted so that our Santa can go fulfill our wishes.
We started off playing guess the number so see who goes first.

Sylvia first, and her angel was Linx. The wrap was soo cute and with effort!!!
If it was me, it wouldn't be like this. lol...

We asked JH to guess what isit .. and there was alot of laughter.,, totally forgot what was it about but damn funny..

Tada!!! Linx's christmas wish. Taiwan dollar! cause she's going to Taiwan for countdown. Stunned JH. lol.

Then came my turn!!! Obviously, when JH peeked into the bag, he knew it was for me.. hahaha....
Duh. -.-""
Thanks Linx!!!! :):):)

Then came my turn... my angel was Yuez... and she got this!!!!

Hahaha... well, her gift was actually an Ipad 2 casing .. and I bought it on Qoo10, and it still haven arrived!!! So... the little forever friend card is a starter for her gift. Main course will come soon okie... ?
*hugs*

Last was Sylvia, who received her gift which is a skipping rope. It's not the normal skipping rope wor. It has a weight ball which replaces the string. Which means you skip using the momentum. No physical rope to jump.
Let us know if it works!

Sylvia bought a gift for our plus one. hahhaa... Love this picture. cause can see his teeth. hahaha...

So I force him to take another one with me. even though i didn't get any pressie for him... sorry.. ::(

His gift... the lego is soooo small... he has a super hard time fixing them... lol.... I wonder if the final display be out to let us see... lol...

A gift from Sylvia... :):) personalised name wristlet for all of us.

And then, came the highlight of the night. We booked a different place called Xcape located at Purvis street.
And I noticed all such game places is hiding at those discret places cause it's so easy to walk past and not detect their shop front!!!!
We played the Chamber of Secrets.

I shall not reveal any hints or answer but just to share, this place is so much more fun cause it has those mezzanine hideouts, and it leads you to another mini room.
We were so much better than the first time we went, and managed to solve most of the clues given. And we only used 1 helpline!!! Kudos!
However, we were soo close to solving, and left last clue to uncrack. If only there were more time.
But nonetheless, I think we were great!!!!

Really enjoyed myself and we made a great team!!! Let's try another one soon!

Chill, it's christmas soon!

Last Thursday, I claimed my off days to relax and do some shopping in town!
Got GGH to take his off too since he has more offs than me.

Met up for Brunch at Cafe Melba
It's located at 90 Goodman Road,
Goodman Art Centre
Blk N

It's slightly off the way if you are taking public transport but it's just a short walk from Mountbatten Circle line.

As I wanted, the place was quiet cause it's early and it's weekday! Love to sit and slowly dine in peace.
We ordered the one of the light bites: pizza bread basket with home made dips
I like the pizza by itself. it's thin sliced, and soft. We were surprised by the portion of it. Light bites but 8 huge pieces???
Didn't really know how to enjoy the dips because it's oil based.

We ordered one of their Brekkie: Full Melba cooked breakfast. What's brunch without such food?!
Occasionally, I like eating angmoh style of breakfast. :)
But sad to say, this isn't really fantastic. The sausage were salty, bacon too. The best was the mushroom.
So far, I like Wild Honey breakfast. Would love to go back there again.

Their truffle fries is good though. haha. Plus points for them.
But of course, it's too huge a portion and we ended up being unable to finish all of them.
Blame the light bites. LIGHT???

After that, we went to Marina Square to catch a movie, Everybody's business. Soso only. Not as good as the previous movies. :(
Walked around the atruim and took christmas pictures!!! They have this super cool screen where you stand in front of the christmas tree, you can sort of take picture with the images of the screen which has polar bear swimming. I think it's supposed to be 3D effect? Too bad I didn't bring camera out. The phone captures the screen's grids so not very nice in pictures.

Our first Christmas pic! :)
After that, we went for a spa at Amarin Spa located at Marina Mandarin Hotel. Bought this on Groupon at a cheap price. :)
Both of us did Swedish massage which is relaxing instead of the Thai massage.
Quite shiok cause very long didn't do massage.

They served us ginger tea in their lounge area. Of course, as expected, they would introduce their services that they provide and packages available. Expect this when you purchase services from online vouchers.
I enjoyed the 1hr 15min spa and it really was relaxing, but sorry, no money to buy such packages. haha.

Continued shopping at marina square to city hall before eating one of my favourite vietnam eatery, Namnam.
I tried the Flower Crab Noodle soup. It's supposed to be spicier than the normal, but to me it's sweet... Like those chilli crab which is sweet. hahaa... I prefer the original soup base rather than this. And why I like here is because their soup is good, and alot!!!! Full bowl of soup. :):):)

Looking forward to another weekday off day where it's less crowded and you get to just slow down the pace of everything..... :)

Neverland

My first Thai club experience @ Neverland Orchard Plaza

After much discussion from whatsapp, we finally meet up for a Tahi club experience. The girls gave in to my requests. haha...
If I'm not wrong, this is also our first time going to a club together.
We wanted to go Sonar but it was full, so went to Neverland instead.
Thankfully, there was JinHui who joined us cause he's familar with Thai clubs. haha...
His friend joined us too cause it was his birthday.

Opened two bottles.. which I never do this with my colleagues cause we also go dance only.
Drinkers are far and few between among my group of friends.
Amazingly, the two guys finished and left like 1/4 of it. Power.

The difference between a Thai pub and normal clubbing is that they have session of "catwalks" on stage.
First was the girls who acccompany you to drink, second, girls who dance, and lastly was the Korean girls.
So every segment, they will catwalk and see if people got give them flowers or not. The cheapest is $20 and biggest... no limit? lol.. i dunno. I witnessed a $1,000 garland. Guys.... can really spend on such stuffs. *roll eyes*
Overall, it was an eye opener, but I would prefer normal clubbing cause it has dance floor, and if I were to go such places, dance is more important than seeing such shows and drinking.
But then again, that's my personal opinion. :)

Vain Pot - Face Mask + Etude CC Cream

Gonna do something unusual here. Talking about products that I used.
Why? Cause firstly, nothing much to do .. haha...
and secondly, of course to share and note to self reminders. :)

So, did tried this new face mask on the shelf of Watsons. Bought it during the sale (was having 1 for 1), so decided to give it a try.

I used to use just Neutrogena cause it fits me best and i think it's not very watery. Then came Face Shop cause my brother buys a whole bunch when he's there. So, just make do.

Running low, so just tried this. Sadly, too watery and the mask is too big for my face. And it feels a sticky feeling thereafter. So,... nah. Personal feel - Don't get this.

On the good side, I decided to try a new CC Cream, my very first CC cream, at Etude House.
Heard lots of reviews about this, so decided to try it.
The cream is white in colour, but when you apply on it, it dissolves underneath your skin. Not whit-ish look.
Love this, cause it leaves a glowy look, give you a bright look. :)
Definitely helps when you are looking tired.. lol..
Am using #02 which is meant for drier skin. #01 is for normal skin combination.

Can try this! :)

Now, what shall I do.... oh ya. figure what I want for christmas.

Glimpse of November

Had a atas dim sum at Royal China at Raffles Hotel for my Dad's birthday.
Had to book early as they only serve 2 seatings during weekends.
The first was 11-12.45pm; second seating was 1-3pm (i think). We took the early one because of the kids.
It was a huge group and i'm surprised that the table can comfortably fit 11 adults plus 2 baby chairs. haha...

We were so hungry, or rather I was, ordered so many that we couldn't finish.. didn't take any photos because every thing were like super fast, and we all just couldn't wait cause we were all hungry. hehe.

The food was actually... soso only.. not as good as I would expect. Probably won't go back anytime soon.
Of course, it is atas la. Love the Tiffany colour.

Can't remember when it was, but GGH and I went to Orchard for a quick walk. And I love the Orchard Central decos!!! So pretty!!!!! But there were lots of people taking pictures so we skipped the idea...
I realise.. I don't take alot of pictures with him... haha...

Just before my exam, I went for a haircut!!!!!! Tadah!!!! Short right... I kinda like it cause it's been a long time since I cut so short, and it's refreshing!!!! :) I look like 16 right??!!!! lol....

So fast, December is here... Time for a closure of this year... and a new fresh start.
Many things are still unresolved... and still worries until the day everything is settled. But nothing much I can do... so just gonna be patient and stay happy.
I hope the true happiness without any worry will come soon.

The Escape Experts (not!)

I'm back!!! Super back log in all my posts and everywhere! The only thing that I have been updating is an app called Dayre!! And it's good because you can post many stuff and it collates in one day entry. Not only that, it doesn't lag!!! :)
Loving it.

So... November was a super busy month with many birthday celebrations and also with company tax comp due... which was a major killer. I broke record by staying till 7am the next morning. Body clock couldn't take it, I ended up sleeping my way through Saturday and stoning for the rest of the day. Didn't study for my exams at all...x.x

Celebrated the November babies together! And this time, it's something different.. we went to the escape artist!
Its a game where there's a story line, you are locked in a room and within 60min, you need to find clues, get the key to get out.
We chose Level 13.5 and the room was total darkness! Pretty cool! But I think we were suckers. We basically called the helpline for every clue to unlock the next door.. lol.... But still, we managed to escape! hurhurhur..... okay lar.... we knew the last clue answer right?! hehe

After having so much fun, we went for dinner at Plaza Singapura Hifumi! It was a semi buffet... and turns out... the girls... rather ... Yuez was eating the buffet than her main course!!! She ate 6 portions of the Soba noodles!!!!!!! ALONE!!! hahaha.... and didn't finish her rice.lol...
But honestly, I like their food, and will go back again! For the fishballs!!!! MY FAVOURITE!!!! :):):)

We went for Starbucks la-kopi and gave them presents!!! Bought jacket for linx and laneige for Via. Hope you guys like it!!! :)

We talked for so long and ended up rushing for last bus.... I ended up walking back to home from the drop off point after Chai Chee. cause no more bus.. haha...
We also planned for christmas exchange!!! Now... what shall I want... ???
