Let It Go

It's a long time since I ever chased a serial on TV. And this time, I finally watched a full serial that caught my interest - Let It Go. This is on Channel U, recently ended, so you can catch it on Catch Up TV. A short 13 episodes only. Why I was interested in watching is because of .. ELVIN NG!
hehe.. He's my favourite boyfriend on TV. HANDSOME TO THE MAX. *fanmode on*

Besides the incentive of looking at the handsome guy, the story plot is interesting as well. And, somehow, it makes me reflect of my love relationship.

I remember when I was at my worst chapter in my life 4 years ago, it was really horrible.
The pain left a scar and was mentally tormenting. For me, my way of recovering was shutting up myself to the extent I could not bear it anymore and just break down.
I have a habit of crying at night cause no one will see me.
The longest, and hardest let it go... was probably this.

My friends around me knew, and of course, consoled me and shared my sorrow.
Working was terrible, and I kept making mistakes, and staring into blank spaces. When they found something amiss from my actions, people started asking.
I particularly remembered though, my good buddy, who at that time left Abbott already, texted me when I was still doing OT to ask me what happen.
When I spilled the beans, I guess the conversation crafted a bad scenario as if I was going to end my life (probably that time maybe), and he sent someone else who was still in Abbott to watch out for me.

And that someone else became my boxing bag since then. Because he has nothing to do, single, he followed me for sad walks, kept bringing me back to reality when I stone. I would look through photos and weep. He was a trustworthy friend because he never gossips nor spill beans. He never ask any questions but just sat quietly there or talk other random stuff. I was really thankful.

Slowly, I got back my normal life and tried to move on with the pain still buried inside me.
One day, when he confessed to me, I stop short and went away. I didn't know what to react and realised I wasn't done "letting it go". And I didn't want to hurt him.

I thought I had "let it go" but it was just being buried. I didn't erased all that left memories. And I remember he said to me something like that... I can always be trap in my own memories, but he has moved on happily, while you are still sad. Is this something I want.

I then found my own way of letting it go, and the only barrier is myself.
I deleted all photo memories, took new course, and did a solo trip and meet new friends. I want to have back my independence that I used to have. Motivational books definitely helped me in my negativity.

They say time will heal everything. I say, maybe not. Healing depends on yourself, how fast you can fight yourself and win that emotional race. And I believe in letting it go before holding someone else's hands. Never bring down other people when you are still not letting go.

And now, I'm thankful for all that I have even though it is a tough journey.

Full of Meh-Meh celebrations

HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR!
How's your new year so far?
Mine was boring... but as usual boring lah.
Probably the only difference this year was accompanying my mum to guan yin temple at bugis. Could feel the atmosphere of new year.

February new year is always a hectic one. cause there's many celebration like our dear yuez bday who falls on one of the cny days. So have to plan for another day to celebrate in advance.
Went to hai di lao!!!
As usual, OVERATE! The soup was superb that I kept drinking it. hehe.

The waitress stopped us from ordering so much the first time round .. but end up, we ordered again 2nd time after our food was running low. haha. How glutton we are.

Went for a walk down to PS due to overeating... and ended up at Starbucks (our usual hangout)...
But somehow I kinda prefer hanging out at starbucks/ any other chill out places cause it's the time where we can chit chat anything under the moon. Auntie mood on.

On Valentine's Day, it was my family reunion and GGH wasn' feeling well too so we didn't go out.
He came over to deliver hamper to my dad then go orchard area to shop for my dad new year shirt.
Walked down Paragon Soup Restaurant for reunion dinner.
Ever since my brothers are married, we opted for early reunion cause they have to shuffle to in laws place for dinner as well.
Too much food that we couldn't finish lots of dishes!

Shortly after, GGH and I walked down the street of orchard before heading home.

My valentine present. Made by himself. :):):)

Because he thinks my chou chou is too dirty. hahaha... and smelly (but its not!)
So he made this himself.

Love the effort he put in. A child like picture ... chou chou can be for adults ok?! why only children can have chou chou?!

And my Line Camera plushies! I bought one Cony in the collection and decided not to get all cause too ex... This is much bigger that the rest of the collection.

And my TonyMoly facial mask! My only favourite right now!

To my unsweet boring bf, thank you for trying your best to be sweet, and putting effort in what I love and trying out my hobby. :)

Wheeler's Yard

Because the boyfriend and I had been spending our dates on exercising and there's just too little time for dates left, this was our first official date in 2015. Like really just to two of us going on non-exercise, normal dating times.

So, GGH planned on this date. Told me to wear our 1st couple tee out together....
There's a reason why...
Cause he brought me to Wheeler's Yard. That explains why he wanted to wear the black couple tee. (btw, he also bought a white couple tee).
The black couple tee was a cycling graphic design.
And, Wheeler's Yard is a garage café with cycling stuff deco.
Totally forgot to take pictures of the surrounding and their default blue signboard. Guess I was too hungry.

My brunch was Smoked Salmon and scrambled eggs.
The salmon was okay, but the eggs is absolutely not fantastic. Food was meh.

We also shared mushroom soup and garlic bread. Soup was also a disappointment. Although it has chucks of mushroom, but the mushroom didn't taste fragrant.
GGH ordered the grilled chicken under the main course and it was passable.
I probably wouldn't go back here again cause the food really... isn't worth it.
The average cost of mains were around $18++...
Had much better food with that kind of price.

Went shopping for a travel backpack but couldn't settle for one. Really like the salomon red bag but it cost like 280 after 15% discount. Cannot bring myself to buy such an expensive bag.
Ended up watching the thai movie in the evening which was really funny. Great show!

3 year old Lucas

Ok, Jan & Feb flew by too fast! Way fast for me to even catch up with my photos uploading and journaling all my events.
Decided not to go all the way back to January.. hence shall start on Lucas birthday!

It's actually his birthday today! But we celebrated in advance for him since today is a weekday.

Please let me braggg about this cake first. This is sponsored by his aunt... and he specially requested a Peppa Pig cake.... Cost me a huge amount! Well, huge amount for a cake so small lor. Comparatively.

But what to do?! Love him so much that I decided to part with my money to see him sooo happy.
He was really very happy and excited to see his cake. To the fact that he asked his mum to keep the train and his name in a container.... hahha... I hope he don't actually eat it...

Lucas, I hope you remember this though. If not, your aunt will remind you when you are older. :p

My sis-in-law's family.

My bro's family with Godpa & Godma.

So happy singing away....

Kids nowadays are getting smarter than before. Technology does make them know more things at a younger age.
Seeing all of them growing up so quickly, I understand the woes and joys of a family. It's really not easy to juggle all of them. And both parents must support each other. Finding a right partner is definitely an important part, and mutual understanding of each other will help to have a balanced lifestyle. #justrandomthoughts

Anyway, the very next day we actually celebrated Charlotte's full month. That's why this aunt is so busy. Cause I had to prepare for Lucas birthday cake, and prepare his gifts to his schoolmates, and preparing Charlotte's decoration.
Thankfully, I had the help of GGH. He really helped a lot and my sis-in-law actually commented his talent. OKAY...... he isn't very talented to me .... well.. he is not the sweet type mah.... but occasionally he does display his talent... but NOT TO ME... :(
The deco was not bad lah... I just didn't think of it mah.... I got so lousy meh?.... haha

ok, shall update soon. cya.

oh hello 2015!

Hello 2015! Just like that, half a month of 2015 is gone... not that I am neglecting this space, but well, life caught up too much of stuff.

On the very first day of 2015, a new child is born and added to the Lim family tree.
My eldest bro have a daughter, Charlotte.
Such light little baby.

2 weeks passed, and.... I as an aunt, haven really got to carry her because she has been sleeping all day long and with Lucas around, I had to have my focus on him instead of his little sister.

2 kids in a family, I can feel it. Tired to the max..., for just playing and staying alert. haha...

Shortly after, my weekend was spent with mahjong kakis and also another day with my SHE girls.
Haha..... they came over for steamboat. All the way from the west and north okay?!?!?!
All of them stayed like jurong and yishun so willing to come to bedok. What you would do for food and gossips. Hahaha..

anyway, we tried the home packed Hao Di Lao soup base, and it was equally good!!!!
Equally spicy! Worth it for the price comparing how much you pay at the actual place.
Thumbs Up!

Also took this chance to celebrate Esther's birthday!
We almost celebrate CNY tgt. hahaha.

Bought her requested Durian cake from Emicake.
I'm surprised by how it tasted so good even though it's emicake. Didn't know they were popular for Durian though.
Happy birthday Esther!
Don't travel so often. hehe.

Have been busy visiting the new born on weekends and with meet ups... and also on running practice cause GGH and I are aiming to run twice a week to train for stamina to do a climb.
Don't know when, but i'm sure it will be this year!
So many things to accomplish before I say bye to my twenties!

The last of 2014

Time flies isn't it.
We are at the last day of the year. My year in review....

Left my first company Abbott and joined another major player. Was a very tough decision, and I still do miss my colleagues. It became more of a family than colleagues.

Completed my studies and obtained my professional certs. This was a long journey, considering all my friends not already not studying... haha... Learning is a lifelong journey, and I do believe in it. It is not only textbook oriented, but also real life experiences makes you learn as you grow. It's the perspective on how you see things then you will be able to realise that you are learning.

Travelling is also a learning process. Learned about different cultures, experiencing different lifestyles.
This year was fantastic, from Taiwan, Thailand, and Cameron Highlands. All of them are new experiences. Yes, even Thailand.... seeing temples the whole day was new. hahah

I also took up my first lesson in wakeboarding and on/off went for a few. It was challenging but fun as well. Managed to stand up for a longer period of time and learnt to go left and right. Will continue this expensive sport, but not so often lah.

Focusing on tax specialisation this year is in a way, a new role for me. I didn't see this coming. But it's something that I don't hate or dread. People don't believe me, but I really do like tax because it's challenging and it changes with the economy. It's not dead.

I must say this year really has been a wonderful year for me, blessed with many true friends around, and happily in a relationship, and enjoying my super work-life balance career. haha...
Next year....... let's watch. :)

Happy 2015 everyone!

Cameron Highlands: Lavender Garden and Big Red Strawberry Farm

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

This month passed TOO FAST that I cannot even catch up and have time to sit and use my lappy. That shows that I haven been regularly at home for dinners too! opps.

Super back log with all my photos!

Let me continue the last stretch of Cameron Highlands..
The last day saw us going to Lavender Garden and Big Red Strawberry Farm.
It's really difficult to get a taxi anywhere, so you will have to book a taxi if you wanna go from place to place. Standard price is RM$25 per hour.
However, we did not exactly book a taxi cause my relative drove us to the new shopping centre for lunch and thereafter we tried hitching a ride. People there are generally quite friendly so I think can try if you dare lah.
Luckily, the public bus (they only have 1) came in time! So we hopped on and reached our first destination - Lavender Garden.

It's really a big garden at the entrance and it's so pretty!
Don't feel like in Malaysia at least.

Dotty car!

Going upwards, they have flower garden too!
Here's yuez with her matchy flower with her top. hehe..

Such bright vibrant flower - what not to love :)

Of course, I became slightly hyper and snapping away!
I love flowers!

However, sad to say is that there isn't much lavender when it's called lavender garden. hahaha...

It took us about an hour very leisurely to finish the whole place.
After that, we managed to ask a taxi driver to call his "kaki" and pick us up to go Big Red Strawberry Farm.
There's seriously lots of strawberry farm so ... cannot decide which one is the best. So we randomly picked one that's near the night market and their main street area.

It was huge! It has a plot of vegetable plantation which is so fresh and delicious to eat!
Perks of highlands. Cool weather and the plants can bloom so pretty.

Of course, we were focused and went to our main objective - strawberry picking!!!
You will have to fill at least half of the box they give and it cost abit more expensive. If you head down to the night market, big boxes of strawberry are really cheap.
But that's the fun - picking the strawberries! I had fun! One time enough. hhahaha...

It turns out Sylvia and mine (we shared 1 box) had bigger strawberries inside than yuez. hahaha...
Yuez picked all small strawberries and so I tried to pick bigger ones for her. Can see obviously who picked which one. hahaha...

After all the fun, we went for steamboat dinner cause it was raining and the weather is shiok to eat steamboat! We went to this restaurant which is just opposite of the taxi terminal/ big carpark.

This is a portion for 2 pax! Huge! But has lots of vegetables.
You can order 2 pax even though we have 3 person. Don't need to go by per head.

The tom yum soup was really spicy and sour and super shiok!
We had a long dinner while it kept on raining..

When I got back, I had a super bad tummy ache... and I think it was because of the tom yum soup that I kept dranking. It was really bad. It has been a long time since I had gastric like symptom.
Thankfully, after taking some meds, it was much better.

When we left for Singapore, a terrible thing happened.... our bus broke down!!!!!
We waited for like 3 hours before we could continue our journey, so by the time we reached Singapore, it was really past midnight!!! and I still had work the next day.. -.-""
We were supposed to reach around 7/8pm so I didn't take leave.
Super suay.....

Cameron Highlands I felt is a very slow pace environment and not much things to do so it's a good place to unwind and chill.
However, because more and more investors are going in and building condos etc, it's disrupting the nature and thus, the climate changed as well.
Do head there before it starts to be not cold anymore.

Cameron Highlands - Bee Farm, Time Tunnel Museum & The Smokehouse

Continuing our journey for Day 1 after BOH tea, we went on to the Honeybee farm which is just down the hill exiting the Boh tea plantation. It's just beside the new shopping centre called Cameron Square. Note: There isn't much to shop at this new shopping centre cause it's not ready yet as of Nov 2014. Only Old Town was open. haha.

So Bee farm. My most dreaded place. Ewww...
And because of this, there's only 1 photo because I refuse to upload so many. Yuez took the photos cause I didn't wanna be near to them. hehe...

There were alot of little wooden boxed up houses for them to pick and bring back "home" the honey.

Shortly after, we made our way to the Time Tunnel Museum.
There's quite alot of things to see as most of the stuff are very old and probably not your era, unless you are old enough.
You get to see what the older generation use without advance technology.

The younger Lee Kuan Yew and the son.

After the tour, we went on the have our high tea at The Smokehouse.
It's a english tudor style house, in colonial ambience.
It serves English high tea with traditional scones, strawberry jam and cream. That's their popular favourite.
Not only that, the whole place is filled with picture worthy moments. Everything inside is beautifully decorated.
Apparently, the garden has won some awards!
Of course then, who would not take many pictures? hehe...
Note that the price isn't very cheap (in malaysia).
